ESDC has been bringing creative movement and aesthetic experiences to adults with special needs for three years. The November performance will highlight this special population's ever-expanding creativity, combining movement with visual art created by participants.

Now in its second year, this unique outreach program brings ESDC's creative movement workshops to children and young adults with special needs. The November performance will showcase the students' creative and artistic growth.

ESDC conducts monthly creative movement workshops for middle school students with special needs.


September 2016 - June 2017
Arts-in-Education Residency
Abram Lansing Elementary School, Cohoes

ESDC returns for its third year-long residency with Pre-K and 3rd Grade students at Abram Lansing. Pre-K students experience bi-weekly movement story hours relating dance with literacy. For the 3rd Graders, ESDC uses creative movement to explore, reinforce, and extend social studies concepts in relation to four countries they will study throughout the year: Egypt, Norway, Japan, and Brazil.

This multimedia performance presents dance and visual art derived from collective dream experiences shared by ESDC in collaboration with sound/video artist Andrea Williams, composer Lee Pembleton and scientist Todd Anderson
