The principle automobile entrance to The Egg in Albany is from I-787. Whether you are coming from the north or south, take the Empire Plaza exit. The ramp will lead you directly into the underground parking areas. Turn right into the V-Lot (the third lot on your right). There is a $5 fee to park on the weekends which can be paid upon leaving at the kiosks by the elevators (credit card only). Take an elevator to the (C) Concourse level and go to The Egg Box Office. Professional modern dancer to be employed, on a part-time basis, as a dancer for The Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company, Inc. Responsibilities include:
Attend rehearsals in preparation for performances, community outreach and arts education programming. The company rehearses 4 times per week for a total of 17 hours from September to June.
Learn existing repertory and participate in the creative process with Artistic Director/choreographer Ellen Sinopoli and other company dancers in the development of new dances for the company.
Participate in company’s concert season, performing in dances Artistic Director has selected for her/him.
Participate in the company’s arts education programming and residencies to include performances, movement workshops and planning sessions, as needed.
Participate in the company’s other community outreach programming to include teaching technique classes for the general public, performing for special populations, performing in the company’s free concerts and showcases.
The Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company is a professional modern company with 6 dancers. It is in its 34th season as the resident dance company at The Egg Performing Arts Center in Albany, NY and holds an average of 10-15 performances, community outreach and art education events each year. Dancers work an average of 40-44 weeks per year, rehearsing, performing and teaching. The season runs from September to June. Dancers are paid $100 per performance, $35 per rehearsal and $40 per arts education movement workshop. Dancers are paid semi-monthly. Benefits include workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, and disability insurance. The company is only able to consider dancers who are US citizens or those with existing work visas or green cards.
