Dactylic Bounds
Medea, Medusa, Circe, Cassandra, & The Maenads: What happens when these women – whose stories are rooted in sorcery, prophecy, thalassocracy, loss, deceit, fear, emotional appetite, punishment, and isolation – meet in movement? Their stories mesh using the meter of Greek & Latin poetry and tragedy to shape the architecture of movement vocabulary and rhythmic structure.
Initial development for this piece began through the NYS Choreographers Initiative 2025 (a funding opportunity administered by The New York State DanceForce in partnership with The New York State Council on the Arts) with the support of mentor Jason Ohlberg and dancers Erin Dooley, Grace Foley, Liv Butowsky, Kyra Paulsen, and Laura Teeter.
