Capital Duo & the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company

UAlbany’s ensemble-in-residence partners with the revered regional modern dance company for a program of live music & dance in a celebration of anniversaries. Honoring their 30th year of performing together, pianist Duncan Cumming and violinist Hilary Cumming collaborate with choreographer Ellen Sinopoli, whose company is wrapping up its 35th year of creating and performing in the Capital Region. The program will include a premiere work to the music of Icelandic composer María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir, Boundary Behavior, a prior collaboration created in 2024, music interludes by Bartok and Smetana, and Silken Threads, a medley of music and movement to Gershwin as part of the Gershwin Legacy Project.
